Jason Biggs: Turning down How I Met Your Mother's Ted Mosby is "probably my biggest regret"

"I was offered the role. Yes," Biggs said on SiriusXM's The Covino & Rich Show of the Ted Mosby role that went to Josh Radnor, according to People. "I was offered the role and it's probably my biggest regret, you know, on passing. I think I was in a phase of, at the time — it sounds so obnoxious to say right now – but at the time it was like, 'Okay, do I want to do TV?' I don't know that I was quite ready to go that route."

He would have been great in that role.

reply

It's funny cause he ended up doing a show with Stella (Sarah Chalke) a few years later called Mad Love. Which I didn't hate, but thought Chalke and Biggs were overshadowed by the secondary characters in Judy Greer and Tyler Labine.

reply

Well and in HIMYM he would have been overshadowed by Neil Patrick Harris

reply

He would have sucked in the role.

reply

Yeah Radnor was the right choice. He was convincingly attractive when he needed to be, but without being a stud. Biggs doesn’t have that allure. Any girl above a 5 he’d date just wouldn’t work.

reply

Plus he'll never be more than the guy who fucked a pie.

reply

Yeah, he doesn't play the confident guy well. He's better and sometime funny as the lovable sidekick. He would have ruined HIMYM

reply

That would have been a one season show with Biggs.

reply

If Biggs took the job, we wouldn't be posting on this board

reply

Whats your thoughts on the announced spinoff?

reply

i'm glad he didn't get it. radnor is perfect, the fact he was an unknown before mixed with his acting makes it so much more believable. and remember that alyson hannigan is also in himym, it would have seemed some strange american pie reunion.
