I really enjoyed Season 1 & 2, back when the mystery of the Others was in full force, but yes, Season 3 had strengths as well, the whole 'what could have been' Season 6 was very interesting as well. Heck, I just love the whole series.

I Agree... Season 1 was one of the best seasons of every TV show ever made... But season 6 oh my oh my that was awful... Every time they went to the flash sideways or whatever we ended up calling it I was ready to jump out the window.
I wish they would erase season 6 and then remake it without the flash sideways and focus on the island therebye also making that story better...
When I talk with people who've also watched Lost, I tell them as far as I'm concerned, the show ended with the bomb going off at the end of season 5. I'd rather just accept that everyone died then on the island so I don't have to acknowledge the putrid, ridiculous, mind-fucking silliness that occurred in season 6.

I thought I remember hearing that the showrunners fought to get the seasons 4, 5 and 6 cut down to 14 or 16 episodes instead of the normal 22 episodes to avoid having to make filler episodes. I think this is one of those shows where it became the "in thing" to criticize it to make oneself feel superior.

S6 rambled and all of the characters became unlikable or boring through a lot of it. But I am one of those cool with the way it ended. Maybe I'm more the faith person than the science person..
The characters always seemed more important than the mythology.
