Love the actor Tadanobu Asano.

the comedy he tries falls flat and comes out as straight up rude.

I like Asano a lot as well. I think he's a very good actor but have to agree, he is no Christopher Lambert. And I don't think it's the language barrier either, Lambert learned his lines in Tarzan phonetically because he didn't speak English but killed it.

Raiden and Shang Tsung were both utterly shit in this film and neither one could hold a candle to the actors that played these roles in the original film. Kano was the only standout and was better written/acted in this film as opposed to the original. Everyone else was significantly worse.

Both Sub zero and scorpion were very good in this imo.
