Why didn't Kutcher do more dramatic roles like this?

He was great in this and delivered what i thought was a really great performance, especially that scene where he's talking to the hooker drug addicted version of Kayleigh telling her "I just wanted to tell you, that you was happy once, with me" dude was amazing in that scene.

Just a shame he went back to making comedies and doing sitcoms after this, i'd have loved to see him in more movies like this cause he really showed he has a lot of range with this performance, he can do more than just goofy comedies.

This was one of the worst films I ever saw, but no accounting for taste. But in general I can't stand Ashton and hated him also as a replacement for Charlie in 2 1/2 Men.

RIGHT?...OVERALL I LIKE THE MOVIE,BUT DONT LOVE IT...HOWEVER I HAVE MANY TIMES CITED THIS AS THE BIGGEST EXAMPLE OF HOW DEPLOYED IN THE CORRECT FASHION,THE MAN CAN BE A DAMN FINE ACTOR...I ALSO VERY MUCH ENJOY HIM IN "KILLERS",ANOTHER FLAWED BUT ENTERTAINING FLICK.🙂

I haven't seen Killers, is that another dramatic role Kutcher was in?

reply

NO..ITS AN ACTION COMEDY...BUT KUTCHER IS MORE OR LESS THE STRAIGHT MAN.PLUS HE HANDLES THE ACTION WELL.

I liked it

Ashton Kutcher has always been an actor critics like to shit on. You should check out Personal Effects, the little-seen 2009 drama film Ashton starred in with Michelle Pfeiffer.

reply

Awesome I'll definitely check that out, never heard of it before thanks.

reply

Interesting. Never took much of an interest in his work due to his awful acting and stupid look, but I may check out Personal Effects.

Thanks for the suggestion.

It's too bad, because I thought he was decent in this and I enjoyed the film even with its flaws. He should take on more serious projects especially now that he is a bit older and can get away from the heartthrob comedy roles.

reply

Probably because his Steve Jobs movie failed
