Apparently they may remake Bender or something because the original voice actor wanted more money than his co-stars bargained for - not because he considers himself more important, but because he thinks the offer isn’t commensurate with the popularity of Futurama. Given that this is the show’s umpteenth revival, it’s probably safe to say DiMaggio has a point.
shareThis show got canceled too early but they had nothing to offer after being brought back for the movies and when they got brought back for the shows. I've tried watching multiple times but they all suck. I can still watch any episode from the first 5 seasons.
shareAbsolutely true. Those first five seasons were must watch TV for me. Too bad its time slot was often preempted by NFL games.

Those movies were kinda like an overdose. Animated comedies only seem to work in 25 min doses.
Either that or they wernt that good .
I've only seen a few of the subsequent episodes ,am looking forward to trying to enjoy them with open mind.

In the 24 hours since Hulu announced it was bringing back David X. Cohen and Matt Groening’s animated sci-fi comedy series “Futurama,” original cast member John DiMaggio has used social media to champion the many fans who are upset over his potential recasting in the reboot.
The possibility of a recast Bender sent “Futurama” fans into a frenzy, with many of them threatening to boycott the reboot should DiMaggio not return. The voice actor shared articles of the fan boycott to his Twitter page, accompanied by Bender’s famous “cheese it!” line.
While DiMaggio has not gone into detail about where his “Futurama” reboot deal stands, he did send the following message to fans hours after the reboot’s announcement: “Thanks for the concern and the props, everyone. I really appreciate it. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted, but until then… CHEESE IT!”
Stop bitching DiMaggio and give us more Bender!
Newsflash: Futurama is niche stuff , barely worth the risk of making new ones without the staff acting up!

Bender has always been my least favorite in the series that is one of the BEST ever shown on TV. Futurama is probably my favorite thing ever but I never got the appeal of Bender, he just had to be endured so I could watch all of the other characters. Well, I didn't care for Cubert either, but still.
shareReally? Endured? I could see preferring the others, but he's one of the three most prominent characters in the show. If I was watching a show where 1/3 of the lead cast made me feel like I was just putting up with them, I think I'd find another show to watch.
