Patrick Bateman will likely work for a Blackrock type company snatching up single family homes causing the housing crisis. If you want to make him a villain I'd say he needs to be in a job that he thinks is cool because he's rich but its on the back of destroying the prosperity of the Middle class.

It will be set in Modern Day New York. Patrick Bateman's high power investment job puts him in the elitist corporate donor class. He'll still be an insane narcissist obsessed with designer clothes and his appearance. He'll be in a constant battle of one upsmanship with his coworkers as he thinks he'll be better than everyone else by becoming a vegan to reduce his carbon footprint. 😂

Why a remake? Why not a sequel set in 2000 with Bale
