Back in the early 2000s...

Were you into full screen DVDs when it came to watching movies

reply

Nope. Had to be widescreen.

reply

No, preferred widescreen.

reply

Preferred wide-screen when available. But wasn't always available.

Or to put it more precisely: I preferred movies and TV series in the format they were made for. So that's widescreen for movies, and fullscreen for TV series. Pity that numerous DVD transfers were botched because of the misguided and erroneous notion that widescreen is always better. This resulted in the exact same bad cropping and unnatural zooms for certain TV series in widescreen as what fullscreen did for movies.

reply

Believe it or not, this was one of our last movies to be bought on VHS before we fully switched to DVD's entirely. It's hard to choose between fullscreen and widescreen, because both have their merits, to be fair.

reply

because both have their merits, to be fair.

LMAO

reply

I could not stand those huge black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Full screen for me. Thanks.

IT'S A GOOD THING YOU'RE A GOOD KISSER.🙄

reply

reply

FAIR ENOUGH...I SUFFER FROM SHALLOW ANUS SYNDROME.😉

reply

Diabetes and whiskey dick is not a good combination.

Edit
I don't want to know how you came to that conclusion

reply

Back in the old days of IMDB, there was a regular poster who always got both widescreen and full screen. He said it was the only way to really own the entire, complete film. He had a blog where he posted screencaps to illustrate what was missing from widescreen (that was shown in full screen) and vice versa.

I didn’t believe it until I saw the screencaps.

reply

Once upon a time I didn't care much, but that was before I learned better. Now it's always widescreen, unless it's not an option.

reply

No the movie had to be in widescreen. Full screen DVDs didn’t last once hdtvs became mainstream.
