Titanic fan theories.

I been reading some fan theories about Titanic. I like some of them. here is my favorite one.

jack Dawson is a Time traveler:

jack form Titanic was a time traveler that was only there to save rose form committing suicide and altering the timeline. the may seen ridiculous be think about it for a moment. if Rose jumped to her demise then the ship would have stopped to look for her. the temporary delay would lead to warmer weather and the Titanic would have never hit the iceberg. the is also why jack made it a note to spend to much time with her, his job was to ensure her survival.

also there is some evidence that proof jack doesn't belong in 1912 and talks about knows knowledge about future places.

what do you think? and do you think jack is a time traveler?

reply

Nah I think Jack danson was meant to save Rosa from ending her live by slipping and falling and braking her neck on the rail. And Rosa was hot for Jack danson she wanted to hump him right when he saved her but her stupido husband came and offered Jack danson some money for his troubles. But Rosa said is that how you treated the man who saves your woman's heart?

reply

Rose wanted to have sex with after he saved her?

reply

Nah, that's just sloppy writing.

Being on a doomed ship without enough lifeboats is exactly the sort of situation a time traveler would avoid.

reply

oh yeah, a time traveler saves one girl and doomed the other ppl.

The Titanic tragedy was the perfect storm if ever there was one.

Any change of events by a few seconds either way would have prevented the tragedy, much less the other variables such as a moonless night, lost binoculars, calm ocean, etc.

Years ago, I played an excellent video game by one of the companies that was involved in the CGI with the movie, and in the game, I snuck onto the bridge late at night and turned the ship one degree off it's heading for a minute, and then put it back on course and left the bridge unseen. I wanted to see if the game designers would have the Titanic miss the berg. Unfortunately, my dalliances on the bridge had no effect on the game.

so they stopped the ship to look for rose, they would still hit the iceberg??

reply

In the real world, yes, stopping the ship would have changed everything assuming the berg was drifting, however slowly. Of course, they might have struck a different burg, had a boiler explosion upon restarting the engines, or been hit by a meteor for being in a different place at a different time...

In the game I played however, the programmers did not allow any change of course to have any effect on the ship's direction despite having a beautifully detailed bridge with what looked like and appeared to be working controls. In the real world, had I been able to sneak on the bridge, change course one degree, (undetectable by any of the crew) and put it back on course before sneaking off the bridge, the ship would have either not struck the berg or struck it in the exact same slicing manner that opened too much of the hull to the ocean.

I like the "better movie hiding inside Titanic" article:

TLDR: "Jack" was actually a cross-dressing woman, not uncommon for the era. We still see DiCaprio throughout the film, but Jack's actual gender would be revealed in a final series of flashbacks (maybe with that "whoomp whoomp whoomp" sound effect).

It's rubbish of course. Cameron uses conventional storylines as a skeleton for his amazing set pieces: a conventional love story aboard a historically accurate Titanic, a conventional culture story using 3D tech

uh....what?

Maybe Jack was from a future in which the Titanic didn't sink. But the death of his young fiancé caused Cal to become cold hearted and evil. He rose to power as a titan of industry and became one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the America. But in the process he destroyed the economy for everyone else and basically caused a depression for everyone but him. Leaders of a resistance had an idea that if they could stop Rose from killing herself, then maybe her kind heart and love would keep him from turning evil. So they sent Jack back in time to not only make sure Rose is still alive when Titanic arrives in New York, and that she is willing to marry Cal.

However, the butterfly effect kicks in. Jack couldn't anticipate that he would fall in love with Rose and he would be what drives her away from Cal. So now Jack has to protect Rose from Cal, who will go so far as to shot at her. And then the ship hits the iceberg due to changes in the timeline. So Jack does everything he can to ensure Rose somehow survives. Including putting her on the door, and not getting on himself, since he knew if they both survived, then Cal might still try to kill them. But if only Rose survived, then maybe she would still marry Cal and save the world from him. Lucky for Jack, Rose was able to hide from Cal, and she was listed dead. Losing Rose to a shipwreck as opposed to suicide, plus the PTSD he probably had from the disaster was enough to prevent him from destroying the country, and Rose lived a long, full life.
