Are we still waiting on an original music release?

When it aired on TV, the music they originally used really worked. Then for DVD releases and maybe reruns, they cheaped out and did not secure rights to the songs originally used in the series. I think it's that way on streaming stuff, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Are there any releases, hardcopy or streaming, with the original music? International maybe?

I don't know, but you can see Pacey in The Affair. He's really grown up, but that's not all it's cracked up to be.

reply

I've been watching Joshua Jackson since before Dawson's Creek, and have followed his career off and on since then. I was very much into The Mighty Ducks back in the day. I also liked Fringe. Haven't seen The Affair.

reply

I haven't seen either Mighty Ducks or Fringe. No news on van der Beek. Oh there was one movie, I don't remember the name. I rather liked Joey in Ray Donovan.

reply

Van der Beek is all over the place. He's been working solid for years.

reply

That's interesting, I don't know how I've missed him. It isn't like I've been searching for any of them, just mentioning what I've come across.

reply

Yeah most of the people from the show did pretty well in their careers. Katie Holmes' whole life and especially career were negatively affected by her marriage to Tom Cruise. He is a bad man.

reply

Yeah I don't typically follow such things, but even I couldn't help but hear about their marriage. And yes, I pity the woman that marries Tom Cruise.

reply

When Dawson's Creek first came out, I only knew Joshua Jackson from The Might Ducks and when Fringe came out, I also only knew him and the guy guy playing his dad from LOTR.

reply

Far as I know, the only place to hear the original music is broadcast rereuns, if the show is even in syndication anymore. Every year or so I scour the net for a tv rip of the series but nobody's ever put one together.

reply

I'm on a mission to get it done.

reply

Somebody out there took the time to restore all the original music to the Witchblade series and Dawson's Creek was a lot more popular than that show. And there's high demand for it. Not sure why some motivated fan with a good computer lab hasn't fixed this mess.

reply

I could try, but it would be a lot of work. I'm hoping to just find decent broadcast rips. The user near the bottom of this page http://www.fanforum.com/f10/complete-series-original-music-63140116/ claims to have copies, but that user hasn't been active in a couple years. I am going to reach out.

The show was a really good one. Very down to earth which made it so enjoyable. I also liked 7th Heaven even with all of its cousin olivers.

reply

7th Heaven was ALL cousin Olivers. I did watch it quite a bit, but that one was a little too pure for me. I can only take so much wholesome.

I really wish the UK would learn from US programmes. Here in the UK, TV is so all in your face, so much that it isn't even entertaining. But US programmes are so interesting. I miss America.

reply

I have a fondness for certain UK productions. Sherlock was good. BBC Narnia was good way back when. Luther. I'm not a big panel show guy, but there's a lot of gold to mine in the UK. Fortunately you're not blocked from watching US TV with the internet and streaming and everything.

reply

its out there, a torrent site i belong to has the rebroadcast with original music, no idea of the quality

reply

Yeah prob not gonna happen. That's why is till have my old VHS copies of the show with all the original music

reply

If you have the region 2 DVDs, use your remote to change the audio track to a foreign one. The original music is still in place for those for some reason. Sure, this isn't an ideal option if characters are talking, but it's handy if it's just the music playing.

reply

Ok thanks, this could be helpful.

reply

I can't name every song that was used but I could tell when music was replaced when watching a few episodes and now think the series is pretty much unwatchable.

reply

The season one DVD has the original music. From season two onwards most of it is replaced, though :/

My recommendation is to check torrent sites. I’ve been able to get a few episodes with original music that way, but I wish there was a way to get a complete collection.

reply

original music is online besides the theme song , it exists because of overseas rebroadcasts
