How did they screw up Kevin's age?

It just seems like such a stupid and easily avoidable error. He was 8 in Home Alone. They say it repeatedly. Yet somehow he's 10 in this, which is the next year. Did the director, writers, producers, and actors really not notice, or just not care? It's not a big deal, but it's just always baffled me that it happened. It's not like him being 10 changed anything.

These types of movies are never big on continuity.

reply

^ yeah

reply

Because they wanted it two years later. Whether he's nine, ten or eleven is irrelevant. Actors act. They do not need to be identical to the characters they play.

reply

Rabble rabble how did they forget him a second time

reply

It wasn't two years later. It was one year later. They say this a lot.

How’d they get out of jail in Chicago and end up in New York

reply

If I recall, Harry and Marv first appear in the back of a truck that presumably was hauling goods from Chicago to New York.

reply

Nah

reply

I watched it tonight. They did.

reply

How so

reply

Maybe Kevin was only weeks shy of his 10th birthday which would technically make him still 9.

For all we know, his birthday could be sometime in early-mid January hense he's 9 going on 10.

reply

He could have failed a grade

reply

He would also have been only weeks shy of his 9th birthday the year before, so why wouldn't they say he was 9 then?

reply

They busted out.
