Did Kim Cattrall really pose nude on the bridge set?

She ever finally confirm or deny that rumor?

reply

Wow, don't know but I'd sure as hell like to see it!

reply

Supposedly Leonard Nimoy caught her and had the photographer destroy the film.

reply

I heard that too.

reply

Too bad Spock wasn't more capitalist minded.

reply

I remember reading about that in the Trek VI Cinefantastique issue (great insider/making of movie magazine) when the movie came out , yeah Nimoy apparently went mad fearing it would damage the Trek brand and personally destroyed the camera film

Theres actually a youtube of someone asking him about it at a con in like the 2010s or thereabout and he sort of laughs it off and doesn't seem to know what the guy on about lol

reply

thank god some one had some pride and dignity back then

now we have to see amy schumer sleeping with star wars characters

reply

Difference is, we wanted to see Cattrall as a naked Vulcan.

And if they had been released, no one would have forced you to see them, grandma.

reply

I think I first heard about it in Cinefantastique. Femme Fatales also talked about it.

reply

here is a scan from an article either CFQ or FF which adresses the incident

reply

Thanks. Looks like Femme Fatale. Great magazine. Too bad they stopped publishing.

reply

I can’t believe I had never heard of this until now.

reply

it is indeed 'fascinating'

reply

I was thinking maybe Catrall didnt get paid all that much for Trek VI it was so budget constrained, so maybe she figured shed get some photos taken and sell them to playboy etc for more than she got paid to do the movie lol

reply

🤔....sounds like a made up rumor to sell tickets to horny sci-fi nerds.

That would be a incredible risky stunt and potential career killer for an established actress.

reply

Career killer how? She’s been naked in several roles, including Sex in the City, which she’s known for the most.

Not like she had anything to lose. Her career was in the dumpster when she did ST6 anyway.

reply

Do you think Paramount authorized the shoot? That is unlikely, as it would sully the franchise and Paramount.

The executives at Paramount wouldn't be pleased with a unauthorized stunt like that and would boot her off the lot.

Not only that, executives at other movie studios would question Cattrall's judgement and she could be blackballed.

The story just doesn't make sense, and her career wasn't in the dumpster, she just landed a good role in a hit franchise and had reason to be optimistic.

reply

Before ST6 she was doing guest roles in TV shows and appearing in low budget movies. Her role in this was a great opportunity but who knows if it would lead to anything else? It sure didn’t help Robin Curtis in ST3.

reply

Sounds like a writer with a active imagination made this rumor up.

I can see how this rumor is easily believed, because of Cattrall's highly sexualized roles in the past, and the thought of her in sexy poses on the bridge would rob most men of higher reasoning skills. (It did me at first 😄)

"Never underestimate the power of hope." - Donald Trump

That is what this role would give Ms. Cattrall, hope that her career would be revived. (which it was)
