I hate the idea of a remake and its utterly ridiculous Rhonda Rousey could be the gender swapped version of Dalton.

I honestly hope so. They could use her for a similar type role/story, but just don't call it Road House. I know the original wasn't the best film ever, but there is no need to shit all over this guilty pleasure for so many people. Plus it is still one of my favorite Patrick Swayze films.

This "remake" idea has been around for so long, I'm pretty sure it's dead.

Golly, that talk was years ago, wasn't it? I think that idea is dead. Rousey's popularity was over before it started. She didn't take off after that handful of action movies she appeared in.

Nope It's still happening. And it's not gender swapped. Jake Gyllenhaal is playing the lead role.
