Yeah, that's true. As Halloween (1978) went with the same old cliche of "straight white male killer" with Michael Myers, Sean S. Cunningham decided to "go woke" with Friday the 13th in 1980 and have a female be the killer while simultaneously having another female lead character killing the female killer. The men did not survive and were all killed by an old woman. So woke I can't even see anymore.

Too bad they brought back Michael in Part 5.

What else were they gonna do, have an 11 year old running around beating people up with ease? Christ, you could just pick her up and throw her. Even though this is one of the better sequels, a 11-year old girl as a serial killer just ain't gonna work. It's a shocking ending that caught you off-guard, but there's really no future with that storyline.

They could've have her escape the asylum at age 21 and go on a killing spree.

Halloween 5 came out a year after 4, I don't think they were gonna jump 10 years into the future. Plus, I remember reading they were very high on Danielle Harris; who was extremely disappointed she wasn't in 6.

That's what they said about Chucky and he kept enduring movie after movie.

Chucky did get thrown:

Or knocked over very easily: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDnPZ0Ccdus

His main nemesis' were also often children or in the case of the most recent ones; a woman in a wheelchair.

I do understand your point, but when I think of Michael over power people over the years and I think of Danielle Harris even now, let alone at the age of 11, I cannot do anything but laugh at the thought of her standing face to face with an adult.

reply

Only thing they could have done is had a full movie of killings that seemed to be Michael myers until we see at the end it was her, she was able to kill them as no one expected it and so caught them off guard.

Not sure if that would work though

reply

How? She an entire movie through a mask? That sounds fun.

reply

"Go woke". That's a shitty label and an obtuse take.

reply

Perhaps that was my intention...

reply

I mean, that’s not correct at all.
