Fisher Stephens, a white Jew from Chicago playing an East Indian Scientist!

Bravo! This man does NOT get enough credit, he's played a Mexican, Israeli, someone from Uruguay, heck he even turn down a role in Rambo 3 as an Afghani! One of my favorite roles of his is an Italian in my science project, he was so much fun in this movie and I loved the goat!

And although I doubt he liked playing these roles, I also really liked him in hackers is the plague and Iggy in Super Mario Brothers yeah that's right!!! LOL

Just watched it again recently, he was hilarious with all the mixed up words/dialog he had to deliver, and playing it all semi-straight.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE FILMS OF ALL TIME WHEN I WAS A KID....AND NOW...FISHER AND JOHNNY 5 ARE AWESOME...GUTTENBERG AND SHEEDY ARE GOOD TOO..MCKEAN IN THE SEQUEL IS MY FAVORITE THOUGH....IM HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO....

Unfortunately in today's environment and by today's woke standards he has committed a sin that he must now atone for. According to woke orthodoxy, brown face, like black face, is prohibited. It is a grievous sin. Anyone who commits such a heinous act must constantly apologize and beg for forgiveness or risk getting cancelled by the degenerate woke horde.

Well then it seems like she is not a degenerate Wokester, just a reasonable black woman who understands history and what blackface represents. It is normal to feel offended when people treat a serious matter lightly. However, it is important to acknowledge that different contexts exist and what may be inappropriate in one context may be acceptable in another. Failing to understand this distinction is characteristic of overly zealous woke degenerates incapable of using rational judgment.

I think that's a fair point, and I appreciate how open-minded this woman is, but Blackface has a pernicious history, and even if it's not being done to mock Black people, it might still be a case of a white person depriving a POC of an acting role.

However, I think Tropic Thunder is a rare case where it's 'acceptable', because the *whole point* of RDJ's character was to make-fun of the practice of Blackface (thus, that's a role that could *only* be played by a white actor). It's a thin line, because some people would say that Blackface is so hurtful, it shouldn't even feature in a comedy movie *making fun* of the practice, but I think it deserves a pass in this instance. If we can't make fun of *bad people* or, in this case, *stupid people* doing bad and/or stupid things, where does that leave comedy?

I like Stevens and I like his performance here, but it would not be acceptable today.

And you can act a personality/behaviour, but you *can't* act a race.

he would be lynch today but truth is he give good performance and no actor around at that time give equal performance from india.

1986 may as well be 1000 year ago by how much thing change. this film would be cancel. this is why i prefer film from this time when woketard do not have there claws on film and tv and cannot ruin them!!
