Will Dudikoff make it Expendables 4?

Well?

My first reaction was: Does he even still act? Because I can't remember the last time I saw Michael Dudikoff listed in a movie's credits, not even direct-to-video or TV movies.

Looking at his filmography, it seems that today he is mostly retired.

Name a single A-List action film starring Dudikoff, that would grant him an opportunity to be in an Expendables film!

He doesn't belong there, other than maybe as a mook that gets shot or kicked in the head. Something with only a few seconds of screen time.

To be fair, Scott Adkins appeared in one of the Expendables movies and he hasn't appeared in any A-list action films. Dudikoff was at least a serious player in the 80s among action aficionados, even if not an A-lister.

Yep, he had a string of awesome hits, including the first two American Ninja films, Rescue Me, and the uber-awesome Avenging Force. I completely lost count how many times I've re-watched Avenging Force.

Michael Dudikoff was basically a second-rate Chuck Norris with better looks, and was even contracted to be Superman in the early 1990s had the studio held on to the rights of the iconic DC hero.

reply

I'm aware of the film but I never did see Avenging Force. I guess I'll have to check it out.

That's interesting about him playing Superman. Seems like very odd casting. I can't really imagine him in the role at all.

It's typical B-movie cheese, but well worth a watch (Avenging Force, that is).

Definitely odd casting, and despite loving the guy in the B-movie cult classics, there's no way he would have been able to pull off a convincing Superman (much less a convincing Clark Kent).

(Thankfully?) Cannon lost the rights and the whole thing fell in. Though funnily enough, it resulted in the creation of the Superboy TV series:

Screen Rant noted Cannon wanted Dudikoff for Spider-Man in an early 1990s reboot, too:

And Dudikoff, in a separate interview, noted Cannon was working to get him to be both Spider-Man and Superman:

Definitely could have raised his profile, or it could have tanked him even further being in Razzie-worthy stinkers.

In some alternate timeline there is Spider-Man/Superman played by Michael Dudikoff.

No. He won’t. The movie is already in post-production. The main cast (at least)has already been listed up on the imdb.com and Dudikoff is not on there. Not too surprising I guess. Have Sly even try to consider him at all I wonder. What about Steven Seagal. I would’ve written in Steven to be some sort of henchman or even lackey to the boss (main baddie) in the film🤔 😲.

reply

Seagal should be the main baddie!!

reply

That'd be kind of cool.

Agreed. 👍👍
