Who gave the second best performance after Pacino?

My vote goes to either Robert Loggia or F. Murray Abraham.

Loggia and Murray were both excellent in Scarface! Not able to choose one over the other, they both get my vote.

Michelle Pfeiffer.
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.

Although Pacino gave a powerful performance, the casting of Steven Bauer was better. Somehow Pacino just never comes across as anything but Italian. And Sicilian at that.

Nobody mentioned Harris Yulin?

Mel can't catch a break.

For me, definitely Robert Loggia as Frank Lopez. His accent was a bit cartoon-ish but it didn't matter since his performance was so entertaining and perhaps even endearing. Plus a great range of believable emotion on display; particularly his final scene.

I liked harris yulan as mel. Only 2 scenes and he made his mark. First, believably bringing the chains down on Tony. (On Franks behalf.) Then thinking he can be left alone after Frank is executed. ("Its your tree, Frank. You climbed up in it.") Then "You cant kill a cop!" "Whoever said chu was one?" And then of course, "FUCK you!" going out not a bitch.

My vote goes to Mastrantonio's afro.
It stole the show.

What about the Porsche salesman who sold Tony his car? I thought he did a great job

reply

He wasn't nearly as good as the manager of the fast food restaurant that Tony and Manny are working at at the beginning of the film. That was an Oscar worthy performance. I love the way he says "fuck you guys"
