To be honest, the Sequel Trilogy sounds like a bad fan fiction trilogy of movies which are not official, given the ludicrous things that happen in them.

The REAL Star Wars movies have George Lucas's stamp all over them. That does not include the ST.

reply

Yeah, the sequel trilogy never had any big memorable scenes or interesting characters. As bad as the prequels were, the lightsaber duels were a highlight and people always remember newer guys like Darth Maul or Mace Windu

reply

true. but how do you feel about the mandalorian show? meaning, when boba fett flies into the sarlaac pit, do you think, in 5 years he'll be out of that thing. or in 5 years luke will still be doing jedi stuff, like rescuing grogu?

Yeah, I too heard that Fett climbed out of the pit. He had the protection against the Sarlaac with his armour, and he had weapons on him, so why not?

reply

I don't think the prequels exist either.

Would much rather watch the Sequels than the Prequels , lets not forget elements of what Lucas had planned for the Sequels is contained in them , eg Rey , plus the majority of Star Wars fans would agree with me , judging from the audience scores and Box Office.

reply

I've already watched the sequels more than I ever watched the prequel films.

I ignore anything outside the original 3. I didn't like the prequels and don't find they fit well at all. But appreciate that people do enjoy them. I also have no interest in the sequels either as it makes everything that happened in the OG pointless. So I watch the originals and just enjoy them on their own merit separate from all the other noise that followed them.

The Original Trio are the only ones I find worth rewatching.

"The Original Trio are the only ones I find worth rewatching."
Me too. Frankly I didn't like the sequels that much. The only sequel I might rewatch is the Force Awakens but the Last Jedi felt way too much to me like a shot for shot remake of Empire Strikes Back but with different characters. Like just about everything in it reminded me of Empire Strikes Back and I felt almost the whole time I'd rather be watching Empire Strikes Back. I refused to see the Rise of Skywalker after finding out that the Emperor would come back in it cause it just feels too forced no pun intended. I frankly think it's reaching pretty far for him to have survived what happened to him at the end of Return of the Jedi. But I am biased anyway since I never really wanted a sequel to the OT.

The prequels have too many things that bother me too. The stupid Jedis can't be married which ends up being the main reason Anakin turns to the dark side. And please don't insist that Anakin could've had kids with Padme without breaking that rule. They make it pretty clear he wasn't supposed to get into a relationship with Padme and that doing so caused him to turn to the darkside when he has a dream about losing her. Plus making Anakin as whiny and even more annoying than Luke was in A New Hope. I don't get what Lucas was thinking there.
