Did the Creed movies ruin Rocky?

Is watching Rocky just not the same since?

Can you elaborate further?

Meaning that they've milked the franchise to the point that it's now tiresome. Like some feel Disney has done with Star Wars. Come on, they are even making a fourth Creed movie.

Hell, even Carl Weathers wanted nothing to do with the CREED movies

Is that true? I never heard this. I recall that he attended the 2015 premiere and was interviewed with relatively favorable comments about the movie. Carl Weathers is in my top 5 favorite actors so, I’m surprised he came to diss the Creed franchise. I could see him being a little annoyed that the next chapter for Rocky has now written Rocky completely out.

Come to think of it, I think I got the wrong actor, so I'll have to research it a little better

No prob. Still like your posts on the site

Thank you.. Likewise..

Nope. But they did make me appreciate Rocky 6 more.

I've only seen the first Creed movie but I think they can still be viewed as being separate from the Rocky Movies.

The first Creed movie was pretty good.

However in much the same way that the Star Wars prequels must be considered non canon, or at least in their own distinct continuity from the OT, I think we have to consider Creed in the same way.

Rocky Balboa wrapped the series up nicely with him regaining a feeling of completeness and reconnecting with his son. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, Creed decided to reverse this and make him estranged from his son again.

Continuity wise this was a complete joke and spoils the end of Balboa (which is awesome), unless you just choose to watch this as a completely different thing.
