share I love this movie, it was a big part of my childhood in the 70's..definitely one of the best "small" movies of the decade, if not ever.
Watching some scenes on YouTube there's something really off putting about Tatum(Amanda). I don't think it's her tomboy character it's just something I can't put my finger on..definitely could be her smart mouth..keep in mind I basically felt the same way back in 1976 when I was only 11 years old. I didn't have a crush on Jodie Foster(Tatum is definitely cuter) or Kristy McNichol or even Farrah Fawcett either.
A couple of actresses in the early 80's really caught my eye, that princess in Flash Gordon, the Black Emmanuelle on Cinemax, and Phoebe Cates in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I guess growing up in middle america I got used to being around skinny white girls and so I veered over to the exotic look as it was something new and different.
what is the black emmanuelle? can you look it up on here and tell me what the exact name is? i thought of jodie foster while watching tatum o'neal in this film. by the way i finally just watched this film for the first time a few days ago on movieplex on demand. do you have this channel on on demand? i think the reason why i thought of jodie foster while watching tatum in this film is they were both in a similar movies around the exact same time. jodie was in a movie called foxes and tatum was in little darlings.
