shareDuring the pandemic, I went and watched all eras of SNL on Peacock streaming. the era of about 86 to 94 was awesomely funny. If you disagree, your sense of humor sucks. Big time.

Just happened to come across your post here and I agree.
The orig. cast/shows is overrated.
Not as hilarious as later ones.
Everything from those years you mention and a few more afterwards was the golden age of SNL.
Now it is rust.
You can actually see the moment Horatio realizes the skit is a total belly flop half way thru. He visibly gives up on it.
shareOh yes there's been way worse than that. If you want to see the show at it's best though those first few seasons and their musical guests- I just can't get sick of it all.
