I mean in this era of SARS CoV-2 everyone is getting things delivered and not answering the door. This was NYC in the '70s. Why would anyone answer the door to a stranger?

shareBack in the 1970's it was very common to have things delivered and in case of groceries sometimes the delivery man would bring them right into your kitchen. Better service = better tips. Even in NYC.
