Why wouldn't they go back to their home in California once Reagan deteriorated? they were only rent that DC house.

Because all of Reagan's doctors were in Washington/Georgetown.

They have no home in California. The old house was sold and the new one isn’t built yet.

I thought the mother was only in town for a movie. But they were both from California.

Bigger plothole - why did the assistant and house staff stick around after things got gnarly upstairs? Who needs a job that badly?
