Warner Bros Needs To Put Scooby Doo To Rest, Y/N?

Warner Bros has tried to revive the franchise with new reincarnations like Sooby Doo Mystery Incorporated and Be Cool Scooby Doo and etc, but I think nothing has worked nobody seems interested on Scooby Doo anymore, so does anyone think that Warner Bros should just put Scooby Doo to rest? Or not?

reply

Not at all. Scooby's tv incarnations may have had to play ball with whatever aesthetic Cartoon Network wants to play ball with, but when Warner plays on it's own Scooby is in fine standing. With movies that are more reference happy to his multiple eras, returning crossover elements, even recently using something fans have wanted for years as a plot point.

And who isn't interested in Scooby anymore? He's still getting new productions every year, he gets new merchandise every year, he's going to be the focal point to his brand's movie universe. Plenty of us are happy about it, otherwise they wouldn't still be getting made.

If anything about Scooby needs to be put to rest, it's having his new shows only go to CN/Boomerang. Either let the DTV and Theatrical plans stand by themselves or get them on another network that better respects Scooby and his fellow HB library.

Huckleberry Hound, Peter Potmaus, and other, earlier Columbia/Screen Gems gang should be there, and the Flintstones, but NOT Jellystone, and I'd love to see nmore merchandise..opf course, tho, Fred, Barney, and the Bedrock gang are still known, and on Post(r) cereal boxes.

I definitely liked Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated but I wasn't a fan of Shaggy and Scooby Get A Clue or Be Cool Scooby Doo. I wonder why there aren't newer productions of The Flintstones since Scooby Doo is still being produced.

Agreed. I own the original two seasons on dvd, and pretend the rest doesn't exist.

I think they need to get rid of all the new Scooby Doo episodes and only air the original ones like Scooby Doo Where Are You and Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo. Those were the best ones.

I concur!

I hope they keep producing Scooby Doo direct to video movies or tv series like Mystery Incorporated (which I enjoyed as much as I did the original series), for the rest of my life... I can't get enough of this character.

reply

No. Scooby Doo has been around for 50 nearly years and has the potential for 50 more.

Scooby-Doo is an institution. It sells well, kids that are new to it love it, and parents (even grandparents) who watched it first time around still love it. The show has grown too. It has some very sharp writing and characterisation, and some great voice acting - and guest stars (many of whom watched and loved the show as kids themselves). Scooby isn't going anywhere.

reply

No but they need to make the cast more diverse. Diversity is our strength.
