Gilligan often catches lobsters for lunch (or for whatever).
Aren't they on a tropical island which means warm water and don't lobsters want cold water?

Not all lobsters are cold water. Many species live in warm tropical waters. For example: the Florida spiny lobster is very popular in South Florida and the Florida Keys.

This could still be a plot hole. Just because lobsters can found off the coast in Florida doesn't mean they are in the waters near Hawaii. Probably be best to consult with a person with expertise in lobsters to better answer the question

A friend of mine was stationed in Guantanamo. Said you could get lobster there almost every day casting nets right from the beach.

Skipper free got lobsters and he still complained about no meat.... lol!!!!!!!
