Considering the unification of the Americas with the rest of the world is probably THEE (or at least top three) most important events in human history, it should be Columbus Day.

Am I correct in assuming you are a citizen on the USA?

Seems irrelevant to any response of merit.

The only thing Columbus discovered is that he was lost.

Indigenous Day.

Can't we compromise and make everyone happy and call it Columbigenous Day?

Indigenous Day

To celebrate Columbus Day is to support systemic racism/white supremacy.

Is that a Starbucks menu?

reply

Neither, but Columbus Day is a joke perpetrated by politicians in the 1930s who tried to shoehorn Italian Identity Politics. RWers praise it but it's nothing more than White-is-Right Virtue signaling to them, not a celebration of his legacy, which By the Way has ZERO TO DO WITH AMERICAN HISTORY. We may as well have English Royal Day and Queen Isabella Day, but we don't because the USA rejected Religious European Aristocracy.
