This is sad. I love his shows. He had a troubled past but seemed like such a happy guy today, you never know..

reply

Yea, sad day. I didn't like him at first when I saw him on Top Chef cause he was somewhat mean, but through watching his shows it was just his style to be very honest. I think he always said what he thought and that's what I grew to love about him.

reply

Terrible news
I really enjoyed his shows
Jeez, no idea he had troubles
RIP

It's sad news... I remember reading his book Kitchen Confidential a couple of years after it came out, a chef friend had recommended it to me... Good book

It seems he had trouble in the past with drugs and I wonder if that was a factor in his suicide, but I suppose we will never really know.

reply

TMZ was hinting his relationship was in trouble. Please don't let this be about a woman. Bourdain reignited my passion in cooking and his show encouraged me to be adventurous in eating.

reply

I doubt that had anything to do with it.
It's probably something he has wrestled with his whole life and he just got tired.

reply

True. In an interview, he said he'd contemplated suicide before, so it's possible a break up might have pushed him over the edge where he just said duck it.

reply

Twixt bites he took his shots at President Trump.

No more.

"Just another day in the lives of TV personalities. They spend their time lecturing us about every damn thing yet they are all screwed up themselves. Sorry for him but when will the public put these people in the right prospective."

reply

Sometimes it takes screwed up people to see screwy things for what they are. Perfectly sane people are more likely to make excuses, deny, and rationalize instead of accept the screwiness when they see it.
