Am I the only person that thinks she's terribly overrated?

If she wasn't on the Golden Girls, she'd be nothing. The only reason she's even relevant nowadays is because she plasters herself in countless commercials as the stereotypical white elderly person. Too bad in reality she's just a mean old lady who is literally on death's doorstop but won't take a hint and just retire.

Ironic this bozo from 8 years ago would target sweet old Betty with one of the meanest posts I’ve seen, and call HER mean.

From all I’ve heard of her and interviews I’ve seen and read, it’s the most baseless accusation whoever this person is could throw at her.

I have heard Bea Arthur could be particularly cold to Betty on the set and STILL Betty talks about her with grace, admiration and respect.

Congrats bozo from 8 years ago, you win c**t of the decade. Please accept this box set of Golden Girls so you can remind yourself what a true legacy is 👏👏👏

Oh, so you're saying she's a two-face?

Bea Arthur was the real star of the show... The whole purpose of rose and Blanch were to be foils for Dorothy and Sofia.

Betty and Rue carried the show. Bea is funny and Estelle is a gem, but in no way are the other 2 simply foils for the mother-daughter duo. You've lost the plot, friendo.

Lol

Yes, yes you are.

I wouldn't say she'd be "nothing," but she's definitely overrated. I'll give you that. Unfortunately when she passes the media will drop everything to tell us the story of her wonderful life for a good month. It used to be when some old celebrity died it was a blurb at the end of the newscast. Now it IS the newscast.

reply

Bea Arthur once called her a "cunt".

You’re what we call an ass hole

This is a terrible post. But this post is from 8 years ago who calls him/herself "demon hunter" on a failed message board now owned and shut down by Amazon.

So there's that.

I think she was great on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" she had her own show a few years in the 70's...hit it BIG time in the 80's with "The Golden Girls", struggled a few times with 2 or 3 shows in the 1990's. And had a great comeback in the 2000's.

She's always been very likable to me anyway.

She was famous long before she appeared on Golden Girls.
