shareI don't live in NYC but I was working at the Worldcom NCC at that time. I was talking to a manager on the phone about our fiber and nodes that were close to the twin towers and I will never forget the sound of his voice. His voice was cracking and on the verge of sobbing, it was eerie. His office had a view of the towers and he keep saying they were there and now they are gone, over and over. I couldn't think of anything to say. Still gives me chills thinking about it today.
sharewhat was it again?
shareIf you weren't born yet, then you don't understand. Stand up and never forget.
share9/11 is one of those days that people will never forget like the JFK, RFK, MLK Jr. assassinations.
shareHard to find good video footage of that day. Seems a lot of them got removed from youtube. I remember seeing the one where the building went down and that huge dust cloud slowly covered the buildings or the documentary where the firefighters survived the crashing of one of the towers, covered all in cement/asbestos? dust and had to find their way out in the pitch darkness with only their flashlights. I also remember hearing about it over the PA in school and at home on the tv but never really thought much about it back then.
shareI think I remember that video. My mom recorded a video from TV about the firefighters entering the building. A film crew was doing an impromptu documentary on NYC firefighters and they just happened to be there on that day. Maybe it was the same one? I still want to upload it to youtube but I need to burn it from VHS to CD first.
