He don't want to say it, but I think since the show is a huge hit, he's scared to fail now.

He's probably re-writing the daylights out of vast swathes of text that the show's audience HATED in the last season. If he doesn't want the same reaction, he needs to work out some kinks!

I think that GRRM actually finished these books a while ago but wants them published posthumously.

After seeing how fucked up the ending was in the TV series he probably said fuck-it what's the point the shit all over my characters and no one will ever want to see anything more of them. He probably doesn't even want to think about htem after they shit all over them in the finale.

not really - he said the show's ending was pretty much what he had in mind.

So.... he's gonna fuck it up either way, cause the ending sucked, even if you do try to justify the queen going loco.

I had no problem with the queen going nuts. The show didn't do it right so it came off as shit... but the real problems were the final ending with the god damn crippled fuck being the ruler, that was just complete bullshit. As if people raised in a time when it would have been completely justified to just toss a baby that was born defective to the dogs they are now going to follow Bran? It just looked like the writers decided they need to turn it into a woke ending to end all endings.
