Her career is so over

she isn't an evil person or anything, just went a little overboard, but the law is the law and must be upheld.

I don't think anyone is defending what she did, or what these "side door" recruiters do, or what the good folks at the admissions office did.. I am glad they were outed as they've denied some deserving students the chance to get an education at the school of their choice.. I'm particularly going to enjoy seeing heads roll at the colleges involved.

And while I love to see rich white liberals being hoisted in their own petards, ruining her career is ridiculous. I see the cucks at Hallmark fired her.

My God, have we gotten to the point where we can't watch a TV show because we're too triggered because of this? Are we now so offended that we must censor that which doesn't conform?

I wasn't outraged that she was on Hallmark (don't watch), but I'm outraged that she was fired while child rapist Roman Polanski's movies are still lauded and shown on TV.

Dropping her from Hallmark isn't about being triggered (people overuse that word). It's another form of punishment for breaking the law.

Is this what we want? I don't know why meting out punishment should now be the province of the private sector. We have laws and we have a mechanism for punishment, both by confinement and fines.

Are the folks at Hallmark truly offended enough to fire someone by summarily dismissal, or are they afraid of repercussions of those who might make a stink? My opinion is that it's the latter.

The fact that they didn't even wait for a conviction smacks of knee-jerk to me.

I think a private company should have the right to end a business dealing if they wish, in order to avoid bad publicity.

However, I get where you're coming from.

Isn't Roman Polankski on the run in another country somewhere? Most average people aren't really aware of the names of directors the way film buffs are, but actors are the face. Most people are just surprised Aunt Becky would do this lol. Pretty actresses are also considered disposable and easily replaceable in Hollywood compared to male directors.

Hallmark is a channel that shows family movies with "lessons" in it and wholesome Christian movies with Cameron Candance Bure. Hallmark is not going to let Aunt Becky mess with their money. The 50 year old women that watch Hallmark are not going to find Lori endearing, they're going to have some choice words about her and the way she chose to raise her daughter. This is why I miss the old imdb boards, because you can tell women don't post on MovieChat. The old imdb boards would have been lit up after the scandal with older women who had accounts. There was variety with posts and not just 20 year old dudes who spend way too much time hanging out on alt-right extremist websites (I'm not talking about you btw).

These brands have to worry about themselves, it's nothing personal. Lori is just one person that can easily be replaced by some other actress. Lori's daughter got dropped from a Tresemme deal and at the end of the day nobody owes you a shampoo deal. They only wanted her in the first place because they thought she had a good image. Brand promotions are completely image based so it makes sense to drop her. They're not gonna keep her around just because they pity her.

He's wanted by the U.S., but otherwise he's living a fine and widely celebrated life in Europe.

My wife used to post on IMDB, but hasn't migrated over to MC. In any case, she's a big watcher of Lifetime and Hallmark, and she said the firing was ridiculous. She's 57 years old and conservative for what that's worth.

But neither she nor I can speak for the general Hallmark demographic. Would the repercussions from Hallmark watchers be that bad where Hallmark would suffer monetarily if Loughlin is kept on? I suspect it's more virtue signalling.

Looks like she's cut from the last season of Fuller House.

Her daughter is getting dropped from everywhere too. She will hate her parents forever.

reply

She should be angry at herself for not making years of efforts.

reply

The daughter never wanted to go to college, she just wanted to be an instagram influencer, her parents now ruined her career.

Now I get it.

In Loughlin's case, she's already faced a major career setback.

In recent years, the former Full House actress had become one of the most popular stars on both the Hallmark Channel and its sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries . She starred as an antiques shop owner with a knack for solving crimes in the Garage Sale Mystery series, and stars as a widow in 1910s Canada in the network's When Calls the Heart, which is currently airing its sixth season (this in addition to occasionally filming Holiday-themed movies for both networks as well).
Even as Hallmark has amassed a surprising amount of stars who have found steady work on their network (Courtney Thorne-Smith, Lacey Chabert, and Rachel Leigh Cook amongst them), Loughlin was one of the most prolific actresses on the network. Not anymore.

“We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production,” network management told People in a statement.

Not only will the sister networks no longer work with her, but they'll also pull all of her previous work from air as well.
Of course, Loughlin still had one other semi-regular gig on Netflix's Full House reboot, Fuller House. She had reprised her "Aunt Becky" characters on 13 of the series' 57 episodes. A fifth and final season of the show was announced earlier this year, but Netflix has not commented whether Loughlin will appear in any episodes.
