Hugh Jackman Is getting a divorce!

He, Hugh Jackman, can’t live this charade any longer, he can’t breathe. It’s all been an escapade.

As a gay man he need a moment of pause!

You can read about it in this news paper:

Always wondered when he would shave the beard.

reply

Well, his wife is his long-term manager, and in that capacity she's kept him on the A-list for decades.

I wonder if the professional arrangement is going to stay the same?

reply

He may now want to go into directing and producing. That would take him away from home longer than just acting.

reply

His leading man days are basically wrapped up. No more money to shake out of that tree for either of em.

reply

HE HAS FOUR FILMS IN PRODUCTION...INCLUDING DEADPOOL 3.

reply

For years I've been hearing that what he really wants to do is to retire from action films and make Musicals, and when he made "The Greatest Showman" it a surprise hit. For years after it came out, my co-workers were talking about "Greatest Showman" parties being thrown for school kids, so there's good odds he'd be able to get funding for another.

So I really hope that some of his four films in production are more musicals, because nobody else is making musicals! Somebody's got to, why not him?

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN IS SOMEHOW ALI'S FAVORITE MOVIE...I DID NOT SHOW IT TO HER...SHE WOULD BE THRILLED TO HAVE MORE MUSICSALS WITH HIM...THE MAN WAS DECENT ENOUGH TO GIVE US ONE MORE RIDE WITH LOGAN...AND NOW HE IS DECENT ENOUGH TO GIVE US A BONUS RIDE WITH WOLVIE AND DEADPOOL MESSING SHIT UP...SO...I WOULD BE FINE WITH HIM MOVING ON TO MUSICALS.

I've been a mild to moderate fan of Jackman's since the first X-Men film, he's made a lot of movies I like, and everyone who's ever met him says he's a lovely man. So I have no plans to stop being a fan, I wish him every personal happiness and professional success, and I hope he makes more musicals!

And BTW, rumor has it that he's gotten back together with his old boyfriend, the long time producer-partner. I have no idea how this factors into the divorce, since the boyfriend was around for years during the marriage.

reply

I never heard rumors he is gay.

reply

Apparently everyone's heard the rumors! And hardly anyone seems fussed by them.

I don't expect a big coming out, BTW. He and the wife have young kids, and he's still a dad, so the one thing he will never do is admit his marriage was an arrangement.

reply

I know he played Peter Allen on Broadway years ago, but that's nothing to go on, it's a job. He always spoke so glowing about his spouse. 26 years is a long time.

reply

I'll put in this way. I've heard the same sort of long-term rumors about Jackman, that I heard about people like Ricky Martin, George Michael, Matt Bomer, Neil Patrick Harris, Anderson Cooper, etc. before they came out.

At this point, if the rumor mill is that consistent for years and years, and knows all about the long-term boyfriend, I tend to believe the rumor mill.

reply

They are only separated. After nearly 30 years together, I am really surprised. I hope they can work things out.

reply

I like the man's work and hope it's an amicable split, but I'm sorry for his wife. She was more established as an actor when they met and being with him killed her stardom while boosting his. Tale as old as time that successful women bury their success for their husband to shine brighter and then pay the price when their husbands leave them behind. I hope that's not the case in his situation, and that if he is gay he can finally be himself out loud, and I wish his wife a lot of happiness too.

reply

They were married for freaking 27 years. LOL. Its crazy number in real life. Its lifetime in Hollywood world. People get tired of each other.
