Was Henry Cavill a Good Superman? (Patreon Question)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yayumZ_9lSc

I share my thoughts on Henry Cavill's run as Superman and the fandom disappointment that he won't be playing the role anymore.

reply

He was a plank of wood the entire time he played the character, the most Superman he ever was is in Josstice League the version of Justice League that everybody hates.

reply

That's because Joss Whedon knows how to make superhero movies, Snyder does not. It's not Cavill's fault.

reply

No. He is not even a good actor.

reply

No. He was very monotone and stiff.

reply

No, he looked the part but was as wooden as they come.

reply

With his fake American accent.

reply

Nope. He would have sucked as Bond too. If Cavill has a playful fun side, we have yet to see it on screen.

reply

The most Superman we got in movies in the last decade was Captain America in the MCU.

reply

True.

DC Can Break a Tiresome Superman Movie Trend With a Little Help From the MCU

Although Superman often suffers from one-dimensional portrayals, DC has a chance to learn from the MCU and present him as a true character.

reply

Show the human side of Superman like with Smallville and Superman.

The Lois Lane of the MCU was the reporter girl Christine Everhart from the first Ironman. Lois should be a Gale Weathers type figure not a generic damsel.

YouTubers like Mr H Reviews think a Superman film with Cavill is an absolute must and trashes anything Superman without Cavill even he trashes the films he is in.

reply

I think it's worth mentioning that Christopher Reeve had a huge screen presence, something that Cavill doesn't come close to.

reply

I think Christopher Reeve absolutely nailed it.
