He was fine. The script didn't have a lot of charm. That's been missing Since Christoper Reeves. They tried it with Brandon Routh, but it didn't translate well.
shareSuperman movie doesn't need to be Christopher Reeve-verse to have charm, look at Superman & Lois it has plenty of heart and charm.
Snyder made the mistake of making Superman too much like the Dark Knight.
I never watched Lois and Clark. So I'll take your word for it.

With Snyder's recent comments about Super fans being brainwashed to what isn't true canon, didn't he watch any Superman shows like L&C or SV? they had better writing than his films.
