Cicely Tyson died today at the age of 96. I am sad to hear of this, she was a very good actress and portrayed a lot of important black women. Cicely Tyson eschewed racist or demeaning roles in preference of important roles and role models. Condolences to fans, family and friends,

RIP. Never realized she was that age. She looked much younger.

The article reporting her death said that she regularly told people her age was 15 year younger than she really was. She sounded like an interesting person.

I JUST REWATCHED "BUSTIN' LOOSE" THE OTHER DAY...THATS THE FLICK I THINK OF WHEN I THINK OF HER...SHE MADE SO MANY GOOD ONES THOUGH...A GOOD LIFE AND A REAL LOSS...R.I.P.
