All of his movies seem like they drag on way too long. Great filmmakers don't have you checking your watch, they keep you enthralled with what's on the screen. Overrated director that relies on CGI and adapting other people's work.

shareI don’t think the OP was referring to LOTR specifically, more rather Jackson’s post-LOTR work. Many would agree that his most recent movies (particularly The Hobbit trilogy) suffer from pacing issues, among other things.
They haven’t been held in high regard over time either…
No they aren't. It may seem so to people with a short attention span and who want to get out of theater as soon as possible after they've sat down.
What comes to CGI, he's no worse than the others.
