His all-time best movie

It's gotta be "Deliverance."

Yes? No? (I've only seen like 15 of his movies).

After Deliverance and Boogie Nights i'd say it's gotta be Sharky's Machine.

Deliverance and Boogie Nights. I have to admit I loved him in The Longest Yard as well 😊

The most "Burt" movie is Smokey and the Bandit. He and Gleason were goddamn gold in that thing.

He should have taken Nicholson's role in Terms of Endearment (he was the first choice). He would have been so perfect there. It would have opened up a lot of other roles for him as opposed to Cop and a Half.

deliverence is one of those classics. a real story, a cautionary tale made well. smokey is a classic in a different way.

Sharky's Machine
Deliverance
Boogie Nights
Stick
Heat

I was with you until you threw in Stick and Heat, to me they were just bad attempts at recapturing what he did in Sharky's Machine. A bit of a paint by number type of movie. Sadly a lot of his movies often seemed to be derived from past movies.. I mean how in the hell did he think Hooper was even close to be a reasonable movie when it was just little more than a crappy attempt at making a movie that based around more car stunts that they didn't put in Smokey and the Bandit.
