Has he ever played a nice guy?

Michael Ironside seems to have built up a cult-ish following for essentially playing variations on the same unsmiling grim bastard for decades. He's a solid enough actor based on what I have seen him in but has he ever played a nice, happy, well-adjusted character? I may be forgetting something I saw him in years ago.

it was refreshing on v and in starship trooper when he would be cool for a moment.

Exactly, his few moments of sincerity really stood out with his tough-as-nails character.

Top Gun. He was the unlikeable good guy.

lol

Haha oh yes he sometimes plays good guys, true, but they still always seem to be razor-edged bastards. I was wondering if he had ever played a warm, sweet-natured type.

In the Bod Odenkirk film Nobody, he plays a nice and reasonable guy.

Machinist (2004)

I am actually glad he hasn't, it could kind of water down his brand.

It's like Carl Weathers in a wacky Adam Sandler comedy, very weird. Then again Carl I though was pretty funny in some TV comedies like Psych and Arrested Development.
