In a morbid irony 2019 is also the year Roy Batty expired

Luckily all his great performances will not be lost like tears in rain.

That's unfortunate.

Oh... I'm going to miss him (

RIP

Great in eveything he touched.

I especially liked him in Blade Runner, The Hitcher and Ladyhawke.

Terribly sad, a fantastic actor that probably should have had a better career then he did have. Not saying his career was terrible but he definitely fell into pay check jobs as soon as the 90's hit. But he has so many great films in his C.V that he will be rightly remembered

During his peak as a leading actor he had , Blade Runner, The Hitcher, Ladyhawke, Inside The Third Reich, Eureka, Blind Fury, Flesh and Blood, Nighthawks, Escape from Sobibor, The Osterman Weekend and many forget his fantastic work in Holland with Paul Verhoeven like Turkish Delight, Soldiers of Orange and Keetje Tippel. He probably didn't live up to his true potential but he still left behind a strong body of work

Going into the 90's and onwards, inbetween all the b-movies and stuff he still had great work, Batman Begins he had a good role in, Black Butterflies, The Sister Brothers, Fatherland, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Sin City, Split Second, and especially Hobo with a Shotgun.

Great actor and be sadly missed. R.I.P

You should check out "Surviving The Game" (1994), if you haven't seen it. Pretty decent movie; always loved Hauer in it. Great cast overall. Almost like The Character Actor All-Stars or something.

reply

Thanks for the recommendation Charlie, I will check it. It's tough with Hauer especially from the 90's onwards to fight through the rubbish to find gems from his later career. Great actor, many forget that cause he did a lot of action films but he could act up a storm if given the right role.
