Did he get backlisted in Hollywood?

Haven't seen him in a major movie since Motherless Brookyln and that was a really small supporting role. Every other thing I see him in is a straight to DVD movie where sometimes hes barely in the movie. WTF Happened to him.

No, its his choice. He works for 2-3 days on those new films only and are paid $1 million per day. Great gig.

reply

Makes sense, but it's sad he doesn't give a damn about making quality movies anymore. He was a great actor.

reply

Yeah, I watched a couple these new movies he's making and I think he stumbled across the magic formula of most pay for least work. I mean his legendary status is already locked. He don't need to keep making iconic movies. So he's getting paid and on top of that, he's totally boosting his portfolio and one day they're gonna be like, "starred in over 200 movies."

That fun stuff aside, Bruce's involvement with these low budget films almost certainly gets some of these projects greenlit that otherwise never would have come to fruition, and certainly brings attention to them. Which is great for all cast and crew involved to get a foot in the door. He's doing a good thing.

Those movies are total rubbish. Most of them have 3-4/10 IMDB rating. He's only devaluing himself as a star. Makes one think that he's desperate for money kinda like Nicholas Cage.

reply

I think sometimes these guys have secret knowledge that society is ending soon and are just trying to cash out as big as they can. Maybe buy another seat on the shuttle to Mars for a loved one.

reply

He is an actor I find very interesting, but who makes very few movies I want to see. I wish he'd do less action/smartass stuff and move more into drama and comedy. I know he's done that sort of thing, but too seldom.

reply

No, he's like Nicholas Cage. He does anything he gets offered. That's not a good career move.

reply

I don't know. These guys, they got that old school actor mindset of a job's a job and treat acting as such. Instead of making a handful of prestige pictures, they'd rather crank out a hundred movies. They just love the work, love being on set, love making movies. Rather than waiting around for your agent to call with the next big whale. I mean you can't be a movie star if you're not on set being worshiped and feared. Then you're just a celebrity and that's not special anymore.

reply

Fair enough.

he at the end of his career, he just trying to stack as much chedder for his kiddos and grandkiddos as possible by milking his fame for all it is worth. cant dog a man for putting food on his fams table

reply

Probably. It sounds like he thinks for himself. Hollywood hates that!
