What is her best film?

I think Home (2015) is her best film. I've seen 9 of her films and I only liked about 4 of them.

U Turn
The Cell
Out of Sight
Selena

I especially liked these films. Some of her others are okay.

Selena

Probably Selena.

Out of Sight.

Jack (1996) as Miss Marquez, and Selena (1997) as Selena Quintanilla. Outside of the two, I don't think she was in anything that memorable.

reply

I take it you haven't seen Out of Sight?

reply

No, never have. It actually looks pretty good. Even has George Clooney. Surprised I completely missed that one.

Guess I don't really associate Jennifer Lopez with movies often.

reply

I'm not familiar with Home so I went to her IMDb site and she has so many video shorts it's difficult to find the actual movies she's been in. Out Of Sight is a good movie. It seems to have style, like the director (Stephen Soderbergh) knew what he's doing. And being adapted from an Elmore Leonard novel doesn't hurt either.

Money Train

I legit laughed.

reply

Not a fan of hers at all so I second this.

Reluctantly, I liked that movie she made with Robert Redford. Can't think what it was titled at the moment, but it was okay.

LASSE HOLSTROM'S AN UNFINISHED LIFE...THAT DUDE KNOWS HOW TO USE ACTORS.SHE WAS VERY GOOD IN IT...HANDS DOWN HER BEST FILM IS OUT OF SIGHT.

reply

I did see Out Of Sight and yes it's a cool movie. What I liked about An Unfinished Life is all the relaxed parts where people are learning to get along with each other.

reply

Yes, Lasse Hallstrom is a very good director, (An Unfinished Life, The Cider House Rules). Once you realize it's one of his films it makes sense how it's very low-key but well made.

reply

I actually just watched that film for the first time a few months ago. It's a bit of a hidden gem, I think.

I only learned about it because I watched a documentary about Alan Ladd Jr, whose company produced it. It's kind of strange that a high-quality film that features Redford and Freeman pairing up for the first time got no attention.

reply

There is something about JLo's persona that I don't like, which is why I said "reluctantly." But as I commented above, knowing it's a Lasse Hallstrom film makes it more understandable that it might actually be a good movie.

No votes for Gigli yet? LOL!
