Has Mr. Cruise ever been in a "bad" movie?

I looked through his entire filmography and I can't find a single bad movie he's ever been in

reply

Anyone seen Legend (1985)?

THIS is the one I didn't care for --- Not sure how it did at the theater

I don't expect very deep movie knowledge from Tom Cruise fans, but you could have told which version did you see, at least.

Interesting question. One that I have given recent thought to. I’d likely not refer to myself as a “big Tom Cruise fan,” but looking at my rating history, turns out I’ve seen ~85% of his released features, which seems like a lot for a star of his caliber, but have not disliked (rated less than 5/10) any and have liked a lot (rated 7/10+) most, so perhaps I am and just don’t want to admit it because he’s “too mainstream” or some stupid snobby reason. Have not seen Cocktail.

He's pretty consistent with the Quality of his movies for sure

Would be easier just to list "his" good movies. In general I find him big waste of time unless there's some heavy hitter name behind the camera (Ridley Scott, Oliver Stone, Michael Mann, Stanley Kubrick...)

Losin' It and Rock of Ages.

Apparently The Mummy is meh, but I haven’t seen it.

Other than that I only found Oblivion to be weak, everything else he’s in ranges from good to incredible. He’s a smart actor who chooses good projects and works with top talent.

I’ll even defend MI:II, there’s a helluva lot to recommend that film, not least Zimmer’s amazing score.

He, personally, made Interview With A Vampire bad for me. He just looked too ridiculous and it distracted me from taking the film seriously.

Other than that, I think the films of his I've seen have all been between reasonable and good. His top performance was surely Magnolia.
