If you do find him funny, could you define what it is he says or does that is ? Or provide an example. He definitely has his fans. His hosting on SNL earlier this year, though, was a bust.
For some reason, he bugs the shit out of me.
I saw one of his comedy specials, Shane Gillis: Beautiful Dogs, and thought it was pretty funny. Haven't seen much of him other than that.

His admitted appeal totally escapes me.
I liked some of his skits (Gilly & Keeves) and have watched some of his stand-up, but he laughs way too much at his own stuff. I watched this series he did with Louis CK about Presidents, and there were many errors, but he can be funny at times, but I'd watch a repeat of Mort Sahl before I watch him.
