What are some movies that provide a more realistic view of crazed recluses killing outsiders?

Like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, Wrong Turn, People Behind the Stairs, etc. but less comic-bookish and more like a plausible real life crime story.

All I can think of in a more realistic vein is Deliverance and a Canadian movie called Rituals.

No one wanted to kill the outsiders in "Deliverance."

Now….get on your hands and knees and squeal like a pig.

The "insider" was the one who got killed.

Pretty sure those two good old boys would have killed Beatty and Voight and hid the bodies if Burt Reynolds hadn't showed up with his bow and arrow.

Straw Dogs.

Oh yeah! A Peckinpah classic! It takes a different approach, but I can still see it grouped in this subgenre.

Green Inferno.

It’s hilarious - a team of annoying environmentalists try to protect a tribe from deforestation… only for the tribe to capture, torture and kill them 🤣

Deliverance is definitely the more highly regarded film, but Hunters Blood (1987) is so much more fun. Check out this trailer to see the cast.

Hmm... Using the right IMDb advanced search keyword is gonna be tricky. Order will be pretty random and I suspect my list will be a mix of obvious popular films and more obscure ones, and probably not all exactly what you're after, but I'll definitely keep them rated high enough by me to fall in to the like+ recommendation category:

Psycho (1960)
Don't Breathe (2016)
Tony (2009)
Welp aka Cub (2014)
The Woman (2011)
Bone Tomahawk (2015)
Môjû aka Blind Beast (1969)
Spider Baby or, the Maddest Story Ever Told (1967)
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) **Super gnarly warning
The Lodger (1944)
Pearl (2022)
Cannibal Holocaust (1980)
The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007)
The Ritual (2017)
Ravenous (1999)
Creep (2014)
Dead End (2003)
Tsumetai nettaigyo aka Cold Fish (2010)

More where that came from. Please do let me know if any strike your fancy in particular.

[Rambo:] 'First Blood' (1982)

The Naked Prey (1965)

Black Robe (1991)

I don't know about those two. To me, there's a difference between stories about people from a civilized society coming in conflict with members of a primitive society, and stories about members of a civilized society coming in conflict with degenerate members of the same civilized society.
