Twisted Metal on Peacock turned out to be really great. Very authentic to the story in the video games.

YES..I LOVED THAT SHOW...I ONLY PLAYED THE GAME ONCE AS A KID...BUT THE SHOW WAS AWESOME.

I'm excited for season 2 as they set up Twisted Metal Tournament and I look forward to seeing the characters missing from season 1.

Starting episode 7 amazing.

edit...Amazing.

I really like the new Chucky series, though I'm just starting season 2. No spoilers, please!

For me it's either Detroiters or How To with John Wilson. Here's a clip:

I've watched Detroiters at least three times and it holds up great. Might even like it better than I Think You Should Leave... which I also love.

I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED TWISTED METAL AND FALLOUT...IF I THINK OF MORE...I WILL ADD THEM.

reply

Fallout is on my watch list.

reply

Me and the wife watched Fallout yesterday. First couple episodes were great after that it became kind of meh.

Assuming you mean shows that started 2019+, gun to head, I'd have to say Clarkson's Farm (2021). Having only seen a handful of episodes of his car shows here and there, I just stumbled on it, and it's so charming, well-shot, shares my frustrations with bureaucracy, showcases how funny and self-deprecating Clarkson can be, and most importantly of all, really gives farmers a voice, especially when it seems there is a widespread push to severely hobble the farming industry.

It's on Amazon Prime in the US, and I can't recommend it enough. A couple more scripted shows as backups:

Kingdom (2019)
WandaVision (2021) was really surprising and engrossing on first watch. Might not hold up to multiple watches.
This Time with Alan Partridge (2021) - always wonderful to see more Partridge.

reply

Ooh, nice to see a fellow fan of Kingdom. It's so damm good. Wish we got a third season.

reply

I'm sure you've seen the movie, Kingdom: Ashin of the North (2021) but if not, run don't walk.

Among the many Korean horror shows of recent years, my second favorite is Sweet Home (2020). Embarrassingly, I just found the second season, so my opinion only applies to S01 atm.

reply

I was a bit letdown by Ashin of the North tbh. It wasn't bad, just a tad bit underwhelming.

I haven't seen Sweet Home's second outing as well. The first season was pretty entertaining though.

If I had to pick just one... probably Severance (2022).

Honorable mentions to Kingdom (2019) and Constellation (2024).

reply

Hope Severance season 2 lives up to the greatness of season 1

Also, another fan of Kingdom? Awesome!
