Just let it be known that I think Bon Jovi is pretty worthless but their worthlessness is not as bad as Queen's pretentiousness. How is Bon Jovi even in the running though? I get that a lot of people like Queen.

Pitting a band like The Beatles against a band like Alice in Chains skews the final results. The Beatles will win against almost any band because of their importance to rock. I would have pitted The Beatles against a band of equal import, like the Rolling Stones.

I enjoy Alice in Chains much more than The Beatles. But they are not comparable bands.

reply

It's a draw. Maybe in next round they will be against Rolling Stones.

reply

Lol. Sorry, I'm in a sticklerish mood.

reply

It's okay. I don't have problem with criticism.

reply

That's a good thing. It stops shittier bands from fluking off a round.

reply

Alice in Chains is the best 90's grunge band nonpareil. Get rid of crap like Bon Jovi or "Them".

reply

First, I will not stand for Them disrespect. Second, 'm not saying Alice in Chains were shit, but putting the more obvious winner against one less likely to win gets rid of the worse bands.

reply

Okay, I looked them up. They did "Gloria". Classic, okay, but meh. Patty Smith did a better version.

I would like to see The Beatles and the Stones go head to head. Sorry. They'd both get enough votes to move forward unless you we have a bunch of kissasses here who hate the Stones.

reply

I love the Stones, but I've seen a few people choosing Toto instead.

reply

Toto over the Stones? Some people need to be taken out and shot.

reply

Bon Jovi is the best :)

I don't have nothing against Alice in Chains but grunge music popular among a relatively small number of people. They have no chance against other classic rock bands.

reply

Boromir, it depends on the age group.

reply

Most people here are 35+

What age group listens to grunge music more?

reply

Lets just say if you were 19 in 1991 when Nirvana's seminal "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was released, you'd be 50'sh now. So Grunge would peak popularity with people in their 40's and 50's now.

My brother's back at home with his Beatles and his Stones. We never got it off on that revolution stuff. What a drag, too many snags.

It is also educational. He throws away the garbage and kisses his mother on the cheek before leaving for the concert. Such a good son.

reply

It's "favorite band" -- not best or most important.

reply

True, I want to know what is MovieChat favorite band.
I don't care who is the best or most important - we'll leave that to the experts.
