Based on the "Your Favorite Bands" discussion, we select MovieChat's Favorite Band. We start with 64 bands in the elimination round. Now we with 32 bands.

Round Two - Part 2 (out of 2)

Random draw with two restrictions:
The 8 bands with the biggest margin of victory (in relation to all the votes) cannot compete against each other.
The 3 teams with the smallest difference (those who won only in overtime) cannot compete against each other.

What was the toughest for you to pick? Pink Floyd vs. Jimi Hendrix?

Yes, probably so...to be honest, the only band mentioned here that I've never really listened to is Cypress Hill. Like Toto, for example...I think "Africa" is one of the greatest songs ever written. I love Alice In Chains and probably would have voted for them against most other artists...but The Beatles are The Beatles! 😃 So on and so forth. But I'm enjoying this...it's in good fun and I enjoy seeing how people's musical tastes run here!

For me, I find this part easier to vote on than the first part. It will be tougher for everyone in the next round. What I liked about the competition is that it prompted me to delve a little deeper into the music of bands whose music I know less about (even though I know most of them).

Toto is great band. Alice In Chains not my cup of tea because I am no big fan of Grunge Music.

For me the hardest match this round is Cream vs. Crosby Stills Nash and Young.

..it's in good fun and I enjoy seeing how people's musical tastes run here!

This is why I'm doing this. I'm interested in knowing what the top band is among the participants on the site. By 'ultimate,' I mean the band that most people here love or at least respect.

Yes...some of these are awfully tough to decide. I know what you mean about CSN & Y vs Cream...I am a huge fan of Eric Clapton and love Cream's music. However, I ended up going with CSN & Y because I felt like they had a longer career and, ultimately, more great songs than Cream (Cream just wasn't together for that long). But a tough choice for sure!
