Are you a fan of Scooby Doo?

The franchise or just the dog. I was a bigger fan in my youth. Haven't seen all the shows & movies.

Especially the more recent ones. I think the last movie I genuinely enjoyed was the Courage the Cowardly Dog crossover movie. It was surprisingly fun.

And the crossover episode with the TV show Supernatural. Which is hands down one of the best episodes of the show.

I grew up with reruns of "Scooby Doo, Where are you?" on Boomerang. That theme is still amazing after all these years.

Watched "What's New, Scooby Doo?" in my teen years. Another banger theme song.

I watched a lot of Scooby Doo content in my youth.

Never cared for He-man. No, this is not me ''gettting back at you'', I just didn't grow up with anything He-man related.

And by the time I got exposed to him, 😉, I just couldn't get into it.

reply

Just bought the entire first series at Walmart for $40 - so I guess that means yes.

reply

Even as a kid I couldn't stand Scooby Doo

reply

How dare you!?!

New Boromir's game in 5 minutes.

reply

Oh hell yeah, I loved the originals as a little kid. My own kids loved those older eps and the newer series and movies as well. I'm team OG Scooby though, that was awesome stuff.

reply

It's probably the nostalgia speaking but I gotta go with What's new, Scooby Doo? from 2002. A good modern take imo.

reply

Those weren't bad, but as you say, nostalgia...I grew up with the originals.

reply

Favorite modern versions?

When the first incarnation, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, first aired in September 1969, I was ten years old and just beginning to come out of my cartoon watching phase (I still watched some). I don't remember being into Scooby at all. Subsequent to that I never got into anything else Scooby related.

I don't mean this snarkily: does Scooby Doo have adult fans?

I mean, I remember it as a kids' show. Is it just the nostalgia factor or is there grown-up humour in it or other stuff that would keep an adult engaged that I'm not remembering?

reply

I don't remember any adult humor. I think it's meant ''for all ages''.

Except for well, maybe Fred choosing to go with Daphne to look for clues. All by themselves. Every damn time. That sly dog!😁

My oldest son was a big fan when he was young. One year I gave him a Christmas tree ornament: the Mystery Machine. He loved it.
