Why do so few people in movies and shows RUSH to call 911?

Their loved one is bleeding out and the wife/hubby keeps asking questions instead of calling for life-saving help from professionals.

IT ISN'T IN THE SCRIPT.

reply

Because they're too busy banging Benny's and yours mommas.

Oooh nice

Yeah it's pretty weird, especially because you'll literally see someone checking their phone for a text from the dying person or calling them, then 2 seconds later yelling out for someone to call the police or a "doctor" - they mean an ambulance but they typically don't say this. I'm sure it used to work to show someone's chaotic state of mind, but it's overdone now to the point it doesn't have that impact anymore and it hasn't for years.

Lazy writing.

I guess if they showed them filming the situation I might believe it a little more realistic.

reply

Have you ever got an ambulance bill?

Them ambulances are expensive.

Maybe they're hoping if they talk to them long enough, they can walk off that gun shot or stab wound.

reply

Have you ever had health insurance? I’ve had more ambulance rides than IloveyouAmerica has brain cells.

Anyone who hesitates to call 911 for financial concerns when a loved one is dying (1) does not love the person and (2) is a French-fried asshole. You do know that hospitals cannot refuse treatment to an uninsured patient, right? As Ripley said in “Aliens,” “They can BILL ME!” (What superb delivery of that line!)

reply

It's about $500.00 or more in Canada. Not covered by our basic insurance.

We usually just call a cab, it comes quicker - shout out to Public Enemy.

cuz they dumb.

i do wish movies would get just a tad smarter.
just tried to watch that blue beetle, and the thing jumped directly on to his face and he stumbles back wards yelling, NOT ONCE using his hands to reach to his face to try to pull it off. so dumb. I'm standing there thinking why isn't he pulling it off instead of flailing about? Looked so stupid and unreal/unrelateable

It's another example of Hollyweird's stupidity.
