In my workplace there is two co workers who have spread rumours and talked a lot of rubbish behind my back,I've done nothing to these women,it's not pleasant coming into work sometimes,it's frustrating knowing you've done nothing to be treated like this. I'm thinking the only thing it could be is jealousy.
Anyone else been disliked for no reason?
Sometimes, narcissist types might pick you as "the inferior one" in their imagined heirarchy, then reinforce said heirarchy through behavior like you describe. If you're introverted, you are an easy target. If you're extroverted, it might be jealousy... hard to say. They will probably continue to push you, making small insults or insinuations(aka shade throwing) until you react, and if you say a bad word or call them names, or even so much as raise your voice, you're the bad guy. Might want a backup plan for employment in case you get fired. If you're thinking of trying to get their approval, don't bother... that's not how it works. Just try not to care about what they do, or the consequences thereof.
I have a resting bitch face. I've been told by one person that it feels like I'm judging them when I'm just looking at them normally. I believe I've faced discrimination. Maybe it was because of my dreadlocks, or my weight, or my posture. Maybe they assumed I was lazy or uncomfortable, or didn't care enough. Maybe they assumed I was ignorant, or unreliable, or untrustworthy, or creepy, or dangerous, or depressed. I have no idea. It's not like people tell you why you're being treated differently, which sorta shows they don't have any good reason for it, otherwise they would try to fix the "problem".
💯 This is exactly what I suspected might be happening as I read it. It's impossible to say of course without more info, but from the OP's description, it's pointing to the co-worker exhibiting narcissistic personality traits in a negative way.
shareYes these people come across as narcissistic and hateful, i keep my distance as much as possible. I think people are so unhappy in their own lives they like to take it out on others. They also seem to get away with a lot in the workplace which I've never understood why when they have the same role as me.
shareProbably. Or you've missed something. Some folks are kind of rotten. You might consider confronting them & asking them what cause they've been given to start false rumors, or looking for another gig. You deserve to work in a congenial workplace- life is too short. But again, be sure you've given no cause, otherwise the problem may travel with you. Don't be like this guy ;) :

No.. I have never had that happen.. Take it to H.R if it becomes to unbearable
Some people are just awful. I hate gossips - especially when they're making things up.
Have your phone on record and confront them. You don't need to hostile about it. Just ask them why they said it. Keep the recording to back you up. When they make stuff up about the confrontation, play it for whoever they told and show them for the liars they are.
Sure, some people are just assholes.
Ignore those sorts, some people are simply cranky weirdos.

I found out after I left the job he was very likely gay, and liked me when I obv didnt feel the same back - so started being a c nt to me. cos as family guy said, he was angry gay not pleasent gay
