Are female actors more attractive in old or new movies?

Old: 1984
New: 2004
-ish.

Anorexic stick insects with boob jobs do nothing for me. Women in older movies tended to look more... voluptuous, I guess. Not a word you hear much these days.

reply

Not to mention that too many of today's female actors seem to look the same. Half the time I can't remember who's who. Plastic surgery removes their unique physical characteristics. Jennifer Grey is a good example of this. And they wear so much heavy makeup that again, makes them all look almost identical. 🙄

reply

That is very true.

THIS IS WHY I LIKE ANNA KENDRICK.🙂

reply

Probably about the same, though maybe skewed more towards modern films because the actresses look more, well, modern. Often the makeup, hairstyles, and clothing serve to make actors and actresses in old films look a little bit ridiculous by modern standards, and detract from their inherent beauty.

Probably not this.

reply

Truthfully, both. You chose a picture where the actress is wearing only underwear, so the fashion aspect of it is absent, but her hair and makeup are pretty ridiculous-looking.

reply

Women in older movies looked and acted like women. There's no debate here.

reply

I think most people seen the celebs they grow up with the most attractive.
So it depends on age.

reply

Interesting point.

reply

1970s when the women had long hair

reply

I would say old movies. Most female actors today play characters who are basically men.

reply

🤣

Examples of both types?

Women are just attractive, era doesn't matter. If we take your preferred hottest female cast member of terrible film D.E.B.S (2004) versus say Woman in Red (1984) Kelly LeBrock, it's a win-win, and it really comes down to taste. There's hot women in film in every era, just enjoy all of them.

reply

It might be preferences in physique and makeup, those have changed noticeably.

reply

Agree that there's notable differences, and beauty standards for women definitely skew younger now, but there were plenty of beautiful women in both eras regardless of taste.

reply

Nothing more beautiful than the women casted back in the 50s. No matter what you were watching it had an unbelievably smoking hot babe in it with very classical European features. And they were well dressed, well mannered, well spoken and very dignified. Just classy ladies behaving like grown adult women.
